Fede Surfbags

Beachcuties Boutique and Fede Surfbags with handmade and hand-painted beach bags of canvas and cotton. Each bag is unique and entirely crafted by hand.

Hey,

it’s me, Federica, founder and designer of Fede Surfbags.

I created Fede Surfbags a few years ago to transport your essentials to the beach and on your salty trips. Because people are so important to me, my intention is to make their stay at the sea the most enjoyable. These bags are hand painted and sewed personally by me and I’m very happy to introduce them to you!

BEHIND OUR BAGS

A NOTE ON HANDMADE. We believe that even though practically everything can be manufactured, we all still deserve to have a few special things that are made just for us. Each bag at Lihamo Boutique is carefully handcrafted using traditional techniques. Some think this takes too much time and isn’t cost effective anymore. We disagree and say it’s worth it to take the time and to do things right.

OUR HANDPAINTED COLLECTION is probably our most important collection as it was created to encourage and support the art of painting on textiles. This collection of newly hand-dyed fabrics is custom made and created on a small-batch scale, ensuring attention to details and the best quality.

THE FABRICS OF OUR BAGS. Going on fabric runs is one of the funniest parts of getting to make canvas bags. I source dead stock and vintage materials, mostly cotton, from warehouses in Rome and during my trips around the world (the fabric on the bags in Lihamo Boutique comes from Sri Lanka). Dead stock is remaining fabric leftovers from larger brands. It could easily go to waste, but certain fabric stores buy it to resell. There are a lot of chemical-intensive secrets in the fashion industry, but this way of reusing what already exists it´s a great way for small brands to make limited edition products and ensure that fabrics does not end up in landfills.

I love what we’re doing and I hope you do too.

Cheers!
